Tempo Yoga is a way of living - both in and out of the yoga room.  The intention of starting this Studio is to introduce yoga's self care system which brings vitality, health, deep relaxation, and peace of mind.




Thai bodywork is an ancient healing art practiced on a floor mat, fully clothed with no oil. It incorporates basic movement, stretching and compression techniques. Orginally called Nuad Boran in Thailand which means ancient massage, it is also known as Traditional Thai massage.



Deepen your practice, gain confidence, and receive guidance from a teacher to develop a practice tailored to your individual needs.  Lessons may focus on therapeutic treatment of physical alignments or discomfort, creating sequences for a customized practice or developing a meditation/ mindfulness or pranayama practice.

Our beautiful clean space is available to rent outside of our class schedule.  Our practice room (700 Sqt) is suitable for private events, special workshops and meetings.  Room rental rates vary depending on the length of rental and frequency.  Please note, there’s a NO SHOES policy inside of the studio.

Becky Yin

 Yoga, Pilates Instructor & Thai Massage Practitioner

Over the years, Becky searched for a form of exercise that married strength, flexibility and cardio.  This search led her to many gyms and various sports. After experimenting with different styles of exercises, Becky stumbled upon the doorsteps of a yoga studio and started her dedicated yoga practices in 2009.  She earned her 200 hour certificate through Yoga Space focusing on Hatha and Vinyasa, and she’s currently taking Advanced Teacher Training at Downward Dog Yoga Center.

Becky has the privilege of studying with Bryan Kest, Seane Corn, Diana Bruni and Marla Meenakshi Joy.  In 2015, she has broadened her horizons and engaged in direct study with Gymnastic Bodies and Agatsu Inc.  Inspired by all she gained from her strength training education, Becky’s class blends strength, mobility and mindfulness.

Nicole Lau

Yoga Instructor & Thai Massage Practitioner

In 2006, Nicole’s journey on the mat started off as a “new year resolution workout”. It didn’t take long
for her to realize yoga is not just a form of exercise but an incredible journey connecting the mind, body
and soul. Yoga became her life purpose and daily practice.

After years of dedicated practice in various studios and exploration in different styles, she completed
her 200-hour yoga teacher’s training certificate in 2013. Since then she has been actively teaching. And
with so much more to learn and explore, she continuously taking and completing different trainings,
especially the mindfulness, slow and static practice of Yin yoga and restorative yoga, where she found
her true passion.

Nicole is also a Reiki practitioner and a certified Thai yoga massage practitioner, latter trained in Toronto and Thailand. Thai yoga massage is an ancient and dynamic bodywork that works like a series of yoga-like postures and stretches. With over 1000 hours of training in various modalities, she develops her own unique approach of teaching with Metta (Loving kindness).

Her classes are suitable for all ages; emphasize on promoting the balance between strength and
flexibility, loving and accepting our bodies, finding peace within our minds. You will find her walking
around in the class giving hands-on adjustments with her massage palms and Reiki touch.

Parry Mo

Yoga Instructor  

Parry’s vision is to share yoga philosophy and practice in a manner that is authentic, accessible and applicable to modern day life. He is a certified Yoga, Pilates, Kettlebell and Water Rower instructor, specializing in functional movement and body-weight strength training developed from his study of the human body.

In his classes, he draws inspiration from his study of sociology, philosophy and biomechanics.  With his fascination to problem solving, kind spirit, and humour he hopes to help others thrive in living by nurturing body, mind and soul through Yoga. His hope is that each student will step off their mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.

Mallory Cheung

Barre & Pilates Instructor

Mallory was a ballerina for most of her life and was examined and passed by the Royal Academy of Dance at the Advanced Foundation level. She also competed and placed in both national and international competitions.

Over the years, Mallory has practiced yoga and Pilates and was trained in the East to West Pilates Instructor course. She unsurprisingly fell in love at the barre again and is certified by BootyBarre. Mallory enjoys barre for its ballet foundation and how it incorporates cardio, strengthening and flexibility into one great workout.

Ballet is often viewed as an exclusive practice that has to begin at an early age. She enjoys teaching barre as it is an open workout that shares components of ballet with every age group. Her classes always incorporate a dancer’s experience, but with high tempo music and a great energy, you can expect a fun full body workout. She loves stretching and helping clients in improving their flexibility and learning to stretch safely.

Rocio Castillo

Yoga Instructor

In a sudden twist of fate, Rocio found herself in the beautiful jungles of Ubud, where she
completed her 200 hour YTT training. Coming from a social work background, Rocio brings
with her the lessons of forgiveness, compassion and new beginnings.
A long-time lover and student of the yogic practice, Rocio has experienced, first hand, the value
and power of meditation and the peace and clarity it gives.
Her classes focus on connecting with the breath and surrendering to the present moment.

Vanessa Finiello

Yoga Instructor

Vanessa began practising yoga in 2011 and instantly felt connected to its teaching as it offered a bridge to her spiritual awakening and passion. She completed yoga teacher training in 2014 with Yoga Therapy Toronto receiving over 350 hours and has a background in Reiki Therapy, completing Level 1, 2 and Master’s Degree in Reiki as well as Psychotherapy. She teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative Yoga, and incorporates Reiki Energy Therapy into classes to create a space for deep healing and transformation.

Vanessa follows the teachings of Vini yoga, taught by T.K.V. Desikachar, with emphasis on coordinating breath and movement. She integrates a practice of western psychology, proper alignment, mindfulness, pranayama, chanting, visualization and guided meditation into her teachings. Her classes offer students deeper awareness of habitual patterns of breath, movement, thought process and mental activity while increasing physical health, correcting posture, detoxifying internal organs, purifying the chakras and balancing the central nervous system. Classes are accompanied with soft ambient melodies, shamanic sounds and sound therapy. Hands on adjustments and body alignments through energy transfer are often experienced in the class.

Rachel Gerb

Yoga Instructor

Lawyer, yoga teacher, wife and mom, Rachel understands how difficult it can be to find balance. She has been practicing yoga for over a decade and teaching since 2014. While yoga began as the antidote to the pressures of her day to day life, it quickly became her day to day life. Every day she endeavors to take her yoga off the mat and into her home and work. She believes that the world would be a better place if everyone practiced yoga. In Rachel’s classes you can expect to find peace through the connection of conscious breath and fluid movement.

David Zhuang

Registered Massage Therapist & Acupuncturist  

David Zhuang graduated from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic. He has been trained with a range of different techniques such as: Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Remedial Exercise, and Joint Mobilization. David is a Registered Massage Therapist and a Registered Acupuncturist.

He has seven years of experience and treated a wide variety of conditions combine with acupressure point and shiatsu technique including: Patients in palliative care, Sports Injures, Neurological conditons, Repetitive Strain Injures, Headaches and Migraines, Stress Relief, Pre and Post-Natal Care, Strain and Sprain, Chronic Pain syndromes and more. David is passionate about helping his clients create a healthier lifestyle and improved self awareness.

He is in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario. He is an active member of the Registered Massage Therapist Association of Ontario.


Melanie Schorr

Yoga Instructor

Melanie Schorr has been practicing Yoga for over 18 years and teaching group and private
classes for over 12 years. Her practice started in her hometown of Toronto after a bad car
accident left her in extremely bad condition. Since then, she has had numerous other
accidents, injuries and surgeries, using yoga as a tool for physiotherapy.

All of Melanie’s formal training was done under the highly respected Yogi Vijay Amar in
Dharamsala, India. Her training was an intense one-on-one course consisting of not only
the actual doing and teaching of Yoga, but also of human anatomy and the effects of Yoga
on the body. She then opened up her own Yoga centre in Thailand, and in addition, taught
private and group classes at a few luxury resorts. After 10 years in Thailand, she returned
to Toronto.

Melanie specializes in traditional Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga, though you may also catch
her teaching a few Vinyasa or core classes. She continues to develop her Ashtanga practice
in Toronto under the guidance of KPJAYI Level 2 Authorized teachers Paul and Rachelle

Laura Allison Iler Kaufer

Registered Acupuncturist
BSc.(Hons) MSc.

Laura is registered with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO). She is trained in acupuncture, tuina, moxibustion, guasha (myofascial release), cupping and electro-stimulation, and uses these modalities to relieve pain, promote healing and regulate the body.

In 2016, Laura interned at the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine in China completing in-depth studies of neurological and pain conditions, including Bell’s Palsy, neck and back pain, and stroke sequelae. Another area of focus during the internship was treating children for respiratory, digestive and developmental problems.  She also works with Toronto AcuBirthing to provide acupuncture and Chinese medicine to support pregnancy and ease the transition from pregnancy to motherhood.

With previous education and work experience in nutrition, Laura is passionate about having a positive relationship with food and leading a balanced lifestyle.

As an avid paddler and member of dragonboat and outrigger teams, she has a keen interest in optimal body conditioning and athletic performance using Chinese medicine as a way to balance, tonify and repair.
